About Casio Watches for Men

Casio was founded in 1946, and is based in Tokyo, Japan. Casio is known throughout the world for its calculators, musical instruments, cameras and watches. Way back in 1957, Casio introduced the world's first electric compact calculator. Later Casio introduced their electronic musical instruments and keyboards. Casio also became well known for innovative and affordable watches, particularly digital watches. It was one of the first watch companies to embrace quartz movement in its designs. Casio also introduced innovations such as calculator watches, and digital watches that could also show the time in different time zones and watches with atmospheric-pressure, altitude and temperature,  and more recently watches displaying GPS position.

Over the years Casio has made some watches that are now considered modern classics, even with cult status. The Casio F91W for example was introduced in 1991 as an affordable quartz digital watch establishing the distinctive Casio shape. The Casio DW-5600C watch was an early G-Shock watch, released in 1987 and made until around 1996. This watch established the tough ruggedness of all G-Shock watches that followed.

Mens Watch Models available from Casio Watches

Casio make a huge number of watch models, but the main categories can be split into Oceanus, G-Shock, Wave Ceptor, Edifice, ProTek and Sea Pathfinder.

Casio Oceanus

Casio Oceanus watches are packed full of amazing functions, made for high performance using the latest technology. Oceanus watches are solar powered - charged by light (natural or otherwise) eliminating the need for any batteries. Also, Oceanus watches are radio controlled, meaning that the time is constantly updated by a radio signal from the transmitter. This sets the watch to the split second, ensuring the ultimate in accuracy. Oceanus watches differ from other Casio watches in that they usually have an analogue display, with some earlier versions showing a combined analogue and digital display.

Casio Sea Pathfinder

The is a feature packed range from Casio. The Sea Pathfinder watches have just about every tool you need when adventuring on the sea, such as the Casio triple sensor system, equipped with direction, air pressure and temperature sensors, plus a timer for yacht races and a tide graph.

Casio ProTek

The Casio Pro-tek series is a range of radio controlled sports watches (in a similar way to the Oceanus range), made to be worn outdoors for trekking, hiking, climbing and all outdoor and adventure sports. Some models even include a compass and a host of other functions, such as Casio's unique Triple Sensor system to accurately measure temperature, barometric pressure and direction. Some of the ProTek range are solar powered, eliminating the need for batteries.

Casio G-Shock

The G-Shock is probably one of Casio's most famous watch ranges, well known for its super tough casing, designed and made for enduring the toughest of treatment. As the name suggests, the G-Shock is made to withstand shocks, knocks and vibrations without a problem. They were originally made for those into sports and outdoor adventure and today a G-Shock watch is still perfect for anyone into extreme sports (or maybe just prone to clumsily bashing your watch around...). The G-Shock watches are water resistance to 200m, with various functions including day counters, stop watches, timers, and backlights (with various colours etc).

Casio's Wave Ceptor Range

The Waveceptor is yet another wonderfully accurate watch from Casio, using the radio-controlled method of constant time setting and re-setting. Even when you are travelling, the watch will be accurate - at the touch of a button Wave Ceptor watches can update to a new time zone when you are travelling.

Casio Edifice Watches

The Edifice watches are less sports and activity oriented, and include more stylish watches than tough and functional. Having said that, of course, these are still Casio watches, so come with all the necessary functionality and features you would expect, such as  a chronograph, alarm, stopwatch and water resistance to 200m.
